Committed to supporting Vietnamese people on their journey to better health, Imexpharm not only spreads its corporate social responsibility (CSR) to the community but also devotes great effort to building a happy workplace for its employees. This is how the pharmaceutical company has persistently written a meaningful CSR story.
CSR for society: Joining hands for community health
Imexpharm places community health at the heart of its mission. Each medicine delivered reflects the company’s dedication, commitment to quality, and aspiration to bring healthier, happier lives to people. With EU-GMP-certified manufacturing capacity that leads the pharmaceutical industry (12 EU-GMP production lines across 3 EU-GMP factory clusters), Imexpharm not only delivers internationally qualified products but also makes high-quality medicines accessible to Vietnamese people at affordable prices.
In parallel, Imexpharm actively partners with international pharmaceutical corporations, most notably its 2024 collaboration with Genuone Sciences, to progressively localize the production and management of branded drugs. This approach not only reduces reliance on imports and ensures a stable supply but also brings advanced therapies closer to patients in Vietnam.
These efforts have become even more meaningful as the Ministry of Health warns that Vietnam is facing a double burden of disease: not only coping with the rise of infectious diseases such as seasonal flu, chickenpox, mumps, rubella, dengue fever, malaria, and other emerging diseases, but also witnessing a surge in non-communicable diseases like cancer, cardiovascular disease, diabetes, COPD, and mental health disorders. In response, Imexpharm has reinforced its R&D strategy, dedicating up to 5% of its annual revenue to the research and development of new medicines to address the community’s increasingly diverse and complex healthcare needs.
Pharmacist Tran Thi Dao, general director of Imexpharm, said: “Every effort at Imexpharm – from investing in R&D, strengthening EU-GMP capabilities, to developing high-tech, high-value drugs – converges on a single mission: to serve the healthcare journey of the Vietnamese people, contributing to the sustainable development of the pharmaceutical industry and the shared prosperity of the nation.”
Amid growing environmental and public health challenges – from air pollution and climate change to the emergence of new diseases – Imexpharm actively carries out environmental protection initiatives. The company prioritizes “greening” its entire production and supply chain by using renewable energy, reducing greenhouse gas emissions, installing modern HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning) systems to optimize energy consumption, and operating a wastewater treatment system compliant with ISO 14001:2015 environmental management standards.
Alongside its business activities, Imexpharm also connects science with the community. The company organized the “Imexforum 2025” program with the theme “Advances in Diagnosing Respiratory Infections & Rational Use of Antibiotics in Community and Hospital-acquired Respiratory Infections” in HCMC, Danang, and Hanoi from June 21 to August 23, 2025. The series gathered leading experts to update and share the latest advances in diagnosing and treating respiratory infections, contributing to improved treatment quality and rational drug use.
CSR for employees: Building a happy workplace
Imexpharm considers its people the most valuable asset. For nearly five decades, the company has remained committed to fostering a friendly, fair, transparent, and rewarding workplace. Its human resource development strategy is built on three pillars – Professional Excellence, Physical Wellness, and Mental Resilience – with the goal of cultivating a strong workforce ready to meet the challenges of the modern pharmaceutical industry.
As of the end of 2024, Imexpharm had 1,452 employees across Vietnam. The company focuses on recruitment, training, and promotion policies based on competence and performance, aligned with industry trends. In 2024 alone, Imexpharm held 13 onboarding programs, 740 internal training courses, and 88 external training sessions, achieving 100% participation and over 22,163 total learning engagements.
In addition, the company fosters engagement and innovation through activities like the Sales & Marketing gathering, teambuilding, sports, volunteering, and internal innovation contests. A highlight was the 2025 Sales & Marketing Gathering (March 13–16) in Lam Dong Province’s Dalat, which gathered nearly 500 employees. This event featured the recognition of outstanding individuals and teams, a walk around Xuan Huong Lake, and the donation of 500 trees to the Dalat Youth Union to promote sustainability.

In August, the company also organized six summer trips to Ho Tram, Phan Thiet, and Nha Trang in August 2025 for over 1,000 employees, offering a space to connect, recharge, relax, and “chill” after hard work.
Furthermore, Imexpharm regularly organizes internal sports activities such as football, badminton, cycling, and table tennis to strengthen employee health and bonding. A standout event is the 16th Mekong Delta Healthcare Tennis Tournament – Imexpharm Cup, held in Tra Vinh from April 26–27, 2025, gathering over 260 athletes from 15 healthcare units in the region. This annual tournament, supported by Imexpharm since 2008, helps strengthen solidarity and promote a culture of health and fitness to continue contributing to the community.

Imexpharm also emphasizes developing its next-generation workforce to ensure operational stability and continuity. In 2024, the company further improved its succession development program, notably with the 360° Feedback initiative, which helps individuals identify strengths and areas for improvement from multiple perspectives.
According to General Director Tran Thi Dao, who has been conferred the title People’s Doctor for her great contribution to the community’s health, “CSR is not just a supporting activity at Imexpharm, but a core pillar in our sustainable development strategy, closely linked with business ethics, respect for human rights, environmental protection, and positive contributions to society. We believe that caring for community health begins with nurturing a happy workforce, and it is these dedicated people who will spread positive values to society.”
