The Japan Festival is taking place at Saigon Centre from 5 to 21 April 2024.
Saigon Centre, Keppel’s flagship mixed-use development in Ho Chi Minh City, is holding its annual Japan Festival for the third consecutive year. The theme of this year’s festival is inspired by gassho-zukuri architecture (thatched-roof house) of ancient Japanese villages nestled beneath Sakura branches. Visitors can enjoy the stunning scenery of cherry blossoms, take photos at cute Japanese strawberry-themed photo spots, and participate in an array of Japan-themed activities and promotions during the festival.
The opening ceremony was graced by Mr. Masuo Ono, Consul-General of Japan in Ho Chi Minh City, together with Mr. Nobuyuki Matsumoto, Chief Representative of the Japan External Trade Organisation (JETRO) Representative Office in Ho Chi Minh City, and Mr. Joseph Low, Chairman of Keppel Land Watco I to V, the joint venture entities for Saigon Centre, and President, Real Estate (Vietnam), Keppel Ltd.
Mr. Joseph Low said, “We are honoured to hold the Japan Festival at Saigon Centre for the 3rd consecutive year. From the 5th to the 21st of April, we will introduce Japanese brands and offer thrilling Japan-inspired activities amidst our mall-wide Sakura-themed decorations to customers. The Festival not only enhances the shopping experience at Saigon Centre but also solidifies the mall as a vibrant placemaking destination in the heart of Ho Chi Minh City.”
During the Festival, Rewards+ members can look forward to enjoying various promotions, such as receiving VND100,000 Takashimaya vouchers with a minimum spending of VND1 million at the Japanese booths, attractive gifts from popular Japanese brands such as Rohto, Uniqlo, Ajinomoto, DHC…with a spending of VND1.5 million, and Meowberry plush toys with a minimum spending of VND2 million. Additionally, shoppers will receive a 25% discount (up to VND30,000) for any departure/destination with Grab rides at Saigon Centre.
In addition, there is an abundance of thrilling activities and workshops for shoppers to participate in, including various workshops led by Japanese calligraphy artists, Chibi (Japanese caricatures) drawing, strawberry cake decoration, sushi-making and Wagashi (Japanese confections) workshops. Apart from the workshops, customers can experience wearing Yukata (traditional Japanese costume), enjoy Karate and Cheerleading performances as well as engage in interactive games from sponsored brands.
