HCMC – The Consulate General of India in HCMC has held a music concert in the city’s downtown to offer a glimpse into Bollywood culture for the Vietnamese audience.

The “Shibani Kashyap: Magical Music in Saigon” event, headlined by Bollywood singer Shibani Kashyap, took place at VOH Music One Opera House on September 5. It aimed to promote cultural exchange and strengthen ties between India and Vietnam.

Indian Consul General Madan Mohan Sethi said at a press conference held on the same day tht the show’s goal was to introduce Bollywood music to young Vietnamese audiences and boost tourism between the two countries.

The concert, which was free to the public, marked another step in the ongoing effort to increase cultural and tourism cooperation between Vietnam and India, Sethi added.

Beyond cultural exchange, Sethi highlighted the growing trade relationship between India and Vietnam, noting that bilateral trade increased from US$12 billion in 2020 to US$15 billion in 2022.

It is projected to reach US$16-17 billion by 2024-2025. He also expressed optimism about the rising number of Indian tourists, with around 600,000 expected to visit Vietnam this year, reflecting stronger tourism ties between the two countries.
