The InterContinental Phu Quoc Long Beach Resort has been awarded the Responsible Hospitality VERIFIED™ recognition from Forbes Travel Guide, joining a select group of Vietnamese hotels acknowledged for their commitment to sustainability and operational excellence.

Located within a UNESCO-designated Biosphere Reserve, the beachfront resort integrates environmental responsibility into its design and operations, featuring energy-efficient systems, smart water management, and an extensive waste reduction program. The property processes more than 23,000 kilograms of recyclable materials annually and has nearly eliminated single-use plastics.

The resort utilizes IHG’s Green Engage system to track and reduce energy and water use in real time, while fostering a culture of environmental stewardship through staff-led initiatives such as weekly beach clean-ups and eco-awareness campaigns.

Guest participation is encouraged through the “A Greener Stay” program, which rewards travelers who opt for reduced housekeeping and linen reuse with IHG One Rewards points.

The “Meeting for Good” initiative further extends the resort’s sustainability efforts by offering plant-based menus and eco-friendly meeting practices.

Community engagement also plays a central role. Through Giving for Good Month and collaborations with nonprofits including Blue Dragon Children’s Foundation and VietHarvest, the resort supports education, food redistribution, and social welfare programs across Vietnam.
