HCMC – The Vietnam Expressway Authority has approved an investment plan for rest areas along the Quang Ngai-Hoai Nhon Expressway, according to the Vietnam News Agency.
The rest areas will be situated on both sides of the expressway in Hanh Phuoc Commune, Nghia Hanh District, Quang Ngai Province, at a total cost of nearly VND360 billion. The project will build two rest areas on each side of the expressway, with each of them covering around six hectares.
The rest areas will have public service facilities with complimentary amenities, including parking lots, rest spaces, temporary driver accommodation, restrooms, information centers, and emergency stations for traffic accidents.
The rest areas will feature dining areas, retail shops, gas stations, electric vehicle charging stations, vehicle maintenance workshops, and car wash facilities.
The project is slated for completion within 15 months, with the public service facilities expected to be finished within nine months. Investor selection is scheduled to be conducted in the third quarter of 2024.
