HCMC – Japan has pledged to provide Vietnam with technical assistance to promote greater transparency and efficiency in the Vietnamese stock market.
This commitment was discussed at a workshop organized by the State Securities Commission in collaboration with the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) today, September 23, in Hanoi.
The technical cooperation project aims to strengthen the capacity of the State Securities Commission and Vietnam’s three stock exchanges in Hanoi and HCMC.
The project will focus on improving the oversight and inspection of the stock market, supervising market intermediaries, and managing listings and public offerings of securities in line with international standards. It will also work to increase listed companies’ awareness of their responsibility to protect investors.
This new initiative builds on a previous JICA project, enhancing capacity to improve equality and transparency in the Vietnamese stock market, which ran from 2019 to 2023.
