Kon Tum shaken by four earthquakes

HCMC – Kon Plong District in the Central Highlands province of Kon Tum was shaken by four earthquakes on February 7, with magnitudes ranging from 2.5 to 3.2, according to the Institute of Geophysics.

The first quake, recorded at 6:31 a.m., was the strongest among the four. The Earthquake Information and Tsunami Warning Center under the Institute of Geophysics is continuing monitoring these seismic activities.

Since the beginning of February, a total of nine earthquakes have been detected across Vietnam, with magnitudes ranging from 2.5 to 3.4. Of these, eight occurred in Kon Plong District, while the remaining one happened in Chuong My District, Hanoi City.

Despite its relatively low magnitude of 2.6, the quake in Chuong My on February 3 was strong enough for many residents in suburban areas to feel the tremors.
