HCMC – Kim Kye Yong, chief representative of Korean Air in HCMC, has expressed interest in establishing an air link between South Korea and Quy Nhon, a coastal city in Binh Dinh Province.
On August 21, Pham Anh Tuan, chairman of the province, had a working session at the Binh Dinh People’s Committee office with a delegation from Korean Air’s HCMC rep office to discuss the intention of the South Korean airline.
Tuan said the province would provide favorable conditions for Korean Air to launch flights to Quy Nhon City. He also noted that Phu Cat Airport is currently undergoing upgrade and expansion, which will facilitate the airline’s plan to organize charter flights, bringing South Korean tourists to the province in the near future.
Binh Dinh has recently undertaken various initiatives to attract investment and boost tourism, including launching charter flights to draw more visitors to the region.
According to the Binh Dinh Department of Tourism, the province attracted 6.68 million tourists in the first seven months of this year, a 97.9% increase compared to the same period last year. Of the 49,050 international tourists, more than 2,715 were from South Korea, a 19% year-on-year increase.
