HCMC – Between December 30 and January 1, the Central Highlands province of Lam Dong lured over 160,000 tourists, up by 33% over the same period last year.
During the three-day weekend New Year holiday, around 140,000 travelers, including 5,000 foreigners, made reservations to stay in Lam Dong.
In the province’s capital of Dalat, local accommodation providers hosted 120,000 guests, with 4,900 of them coming from abroad.
Hotels, ranging from three to five stars, reported room occupancy of 85-90%, while others reached about 75%, according to the provincial Department of Culture, Sports, and Tourism.
The Lam Dong government has actively worked to promote tourism and meet the growing demand of tourists at the beginning of the year, particularly in popular destinations like Dalat and Bao Loc cities.
Notable events during this period included the grand finale of Miss Cosmo Vietnam 2023, and a fireworks display on December 31, 2023.
Local tourist businesses have also invested in their facilities, improved service quality, and implemented safety measures for tourists.
