HCMC – The Ministry of Construction has urged project management units to work with local authorities to complete land clearance for 21 rest areas by the end of July.

Specifically, project management units and investors were asked to complete investment procedures and accelerate the construction of 19 rest areas for which contracts have been signed.

For the remaining two rest areas (Can Tho-Hau Giang and Hau Giang-Ca Mau), the selection of investors must be expedited to ensure early commencement of construction and basic completion of essential service facilities.

The work on traffic monitoring systems and rest stops has been slow, not meeting the required standards. This is causing delays in finishing the related projects and starting toll collection as planned.

To ensure the synchronized completion of construction, equipment installation for traffic monitoring and operation systems, and readiness for toll collection on expressways, the ministry has called for urgent construction of traffic management centers and toll operation buildings for Projects 2, 6, 7, and Thang Long.

At the same time, the supply, installation of equipment, and software setup for these facilities must be accelerated and completed by October 31.

The Thang Long Project Management Unit must finalize contractor selection by July 18 for the supply and installation of shared equipment and software in the Phan Thiet–Dau Giay component project.

The appraisal and approval of design documents and cost estimates for component projects under the North-South Expressway (2021-2025 phase) must be expedited.

Bidding documents for construction packages must be issued before July 25, and for equipment and software supply packages before July 30.
