HCMC – Lang Son Province’s border gates have reported US$32 billion in trade in the year to mid-July.

The Huu Nghi International Border Gate, the busiest in the northern province, handles more than 800 trucks a day. Of these, around 200 trucks transport exported goods while 600 carry imported goods, including fresh fruit, machinery, consumer goods, and electronic components.

Phung Van Ba, deputy head of the Huu Nghi Border Gate Customs Sub-Department, attributed this success to consistent growth in cargo volume since early 2024, peaking notably in the April-May harvest season.

Customs authorities have implemented supportive measures, collaborating closely with border security and inspection agencies to prioritize efficient goods processing.

At the Tan Thanh-Po Chai specialized route for goods transport, an average of 400 trucks traverse daily. Emphasis has been placed on expediting customs clearance and reducing costs for perishable goods. The Tan Thanh Customs Sub-Department, in conjunction with the Tan Thanh Border Guard, has established a “green lane” for streamlined procedures, bolstered by dedicated support teams aiding businesses.

Nguyen Van Hoang, stationed at the Tan Thanh Border Control Station, highlighted daily border guard efforts aimed at minimizing congestion, particularly for agricultural products. In the first half of this year, over 1,150 businesses registered for import-export procedures at the Tan Thanh border checkpoint, marking an increase of nearly 400 from the same period last year.

Revenue generated by the Tan Thanh Customs Sub-Department exceeded VND205 billion in the first six months, surpassing annual targets.

Vu Van Binh, head of the Tan Thanh Customs Sub-Department, affirmed ongoing commitment to promptly address business concerns. Lang Son Province aims to achieve total import-export revenue exceeding US$50 billion by the end of 2024.
