Laughing at mistakes

The Vietnamese language has been known as one of the most difficult to master. Quite a few learners have decided to take a break from learning this language due to its tonal system, which has frequent ups and downs, much like our life in the most literal sense. Speaking with The Saigon Times, David Wann, an American ESL teacher in Taiwan, shares his lighthearted journey to grasp Vietnamese, noting that the joy may lie in embracing our imperfections as accepting and learning from our mistakes whether in tones, pronunciation, or vocabulary.
