HCMC – HCMC will use LED technology, virtual reality and 3D graphics during the military parade and mass march marking the 50th anniversary of the liberation of south Vietnam and the reunification of the nation on April 30.
The city’s People’s Committee said the technologies will display historical footage and visual effects throughout the event.
The Ministry of National Defense and the Ministry of Public Security will organize the parade with the city. The military segment will include 36 formations of armed forces and police. The civic march, managed by the city, will involve 12 groups representing various communities, totaling more than 13,000 people.
The city has prepared three viewing stands with 5,260 seats and support facilities including a stage, press area, emergency stations, and technical centers.
LED screens and loudspeakers will be placed along key roads for public viewing. The city will also use 22 large LED screens across districts and Thu Duc City to broadcast the event.
Preparations are underway to clear the site for setup, scheduled to begin on April 22.
The proposed program includes a 30-minute opening performance, a flag-raising ceremony with a 21-gun salute, speeches by government and youth representatives, and a symbolic release of balloons and doves.
The city has proposed displaying fireworks on April 19 and 26 at the Saigon River park in Thu Duc City. The shows would include 300 high-altitude fireworks and 45 low-altitude platforms.
Authorities have restricted strong lighting and laser use near the artillery unit and assigned police, military and youth forces to ensure security and manage traffic.
