HCMC – The domestic retail cooking gas prices continue to fall from November 1, following a decline in global liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) prices.

According to Petrolimex Gas Corporation, the average contract price (CP) for LPG in November was set at US$467.5 per ton, down US$17.5 from October. The company has accordingly adjusted domestic prices to reflect the global decrease.

Gas distributors in HCMC announced a reduction of VND5,000 per 12-kilogram cylinder, effective November 1.

PV GAS LPG South said prices for its 12-kilogram cylinders have dropped by VND417 per kilogram (including VAT), equivalent to VND5,000 per 12-kilogram cylinder and VND22,500 per 45-kilogram cylinder.

Other brands such as Thu Duc Gas, City Petro, Vina Pacific Petro, and Vimexco also applied similar price cuts. After the adjustment, retail prices for 12-kilogram gas cylinders in HCMC range from VND392,500 to VND445,500, depending on the brand.

Since the beginning of this year, domestic gas prices have increased once, dropped seven times, and remained unchanged three times.

Petrolimex’s retail price for a 12-kilogram household gas cylinder in October was VND403,100, while a 48-kilogram industrial cylinder was priced at VND1,612,300. The November adjustment lowered these prices by VND6,500 and VND25,900, respectively.

Vietnam’s gas prices remain tied to global CP benchmarks, which are set monthly by major suppliers such as Saudi Aramco. As the country still relies on imported LPG to meet domestic demand, local prices fluctuate in line with international trends, exchange rates, transportation costs, supply and demand, and import-related taxes.
