HCMC – Domestic gold bar prices climbed further on December 24, with selling prices rising by VND800,000 from the previous session to VND159.8 million per tael, according to local media reports.
At 8:55 a.m., Saigon Jewelry Company (SJC) and DOJI Group put their gold bar prices at VND157.8 million per tael on the buying side and VND159.8 million per tael on the selling side, up VND800,000 per tael on both sides compared with the close on December 23.
Other gold brands also adjusted up their prices in line with the broader market trend.
Mirroring the rally in gold bars, plain gold rings at SJC were quoted at around VND153.4 million per tael for buying and VND156.4 million per tael for selling, while Phu Nhuan Jewelry (PNJ) listed prices at VND154 million and VND157 million per tael, respectively.
Several other brands pushed selling prices for plain gold rings to levels comparable with gold bars, nearing VND160 million per tael.
At Mi Hong, gold rings were quoted at VND158.3 million per tael on the buying side and VND159.8 million per tael on the selling side, while Bao Tin Minh Chau listed buying and selling prices at VND155.5 million and VND158.5 million per tael, respectively.
On the global market, a series of strong gains has pushed the yellow metal to around US$4,510 per ounce. Currently, global gold prices are about VND16.4 million per tael lower than domestic SJC gold prices.
