HCMC – SJC gold prices advanced to VND127.4-128.9 million per tael on August 29, up by VND400,000 from the prior session.
At 9:30 a.m. on August 29, Saigon Jewelry Company (SJC) quoted gold bars at VND127.4 million per tael for buying and VND128.9 million for selling, up by VND400,000 from the previous day’s close.
The buy-sell spread stood at VND1.5 million, data from bieudogiavang.vn showed.
DOJI Group and Bao Tin Minh Chau posted similar rates, while Phu Quy Jewelry quoted gold at VND126.4 million for buying and VND128.9 million for selling, with a wider spread of VND2.5 million per tael.
Gold ring prices also edged up, with SJC quoting plain gold rings at VND120.6 million per tael for buying and VND123.1 million for selling, an increase of VND500,000 from the previous close.
Phu Quy Jewelry listed gold ring prices at VND120.3-123.3 million per tael, up by VND300,000, while Bao Tin Minh Chau quoted them at VND120.8-123.8 million, rising by VND500,000 per tael.
Global gold prices hit a five-week high on August 28, the Vietnam News Agency reported. As of 12:47 a.m. on August 29 (Vietnam time), spot gold rose 0.6% to US$3,416.14 per ounce, the highest since July 23, while December 2025 futures settled at US$3,466.1 per ounce.
