Local gold prices surge past VND96 million per tael

HCMC – Domestic gold prices surged further this morning, March 14, with gold rings reaching a record high of over VND96 million per tael, while gold bars also climbed past VND95 million amid strong market demand.

At 9:30 a.m., Bao Tin Minh Chau listed gold ring prices at VND94.65 million per tael for buying and VND96.2 million per tael for selling, a respective rise of VND1.25 million and VND1.2 million per tael compared to the previous day’s close.

Phu Quy Jewelry quoted gold rings at VND94.6 million per tael for buying and VND96.1 million per tael for selling, up by VND1.3 million and VND1.2 million per tael, respectively.

At PNJ, gold rings were priced at VND94.1 million per tael for buying and VND95.9 million per tael for selling, reflecting an increase of VND800,000 and VND1.1 million per tael, respectively.

SJC listed gold ring prices at VND94 million per tael for buying and VND95.5 million per tael for selling, up by VND1.2 million per tael on both sides.

Gold bars also saw a significant jump. SJC, DOJI, and PNJ increased their buying and selling prices by VND1.2 million per tael, with transactions currently ranging from VND94.1 million to VND95.6 million per tael.

On March 13, global gold prices surged to a new all-time high of US$3,000 per ounce, according to the Vietnam News Agency.
