Long An aims to complete HCMC Beltway 3 by 2026

HCMC – Long An Province, which borders HCMC, is on track to complete its section of the HCMC Beltway 3 by 2026, in line with the Government’s directive. The provincial Department of Transport has outlined key milestones to ensure the project stays on schedule.

The section is expected to be technically opened to traffic by December 31, 2025, with beams and concrete surfaces for the overpass and elevated bridge to be completed by August 31. Asphalt paving and guardrail installation are scheduled for completion by October 31.

A key interchange connecting to the Ben Luc-Long Thanh Expressway is expected to be ready for technical traffic opening by October 31, while an overpass crossing the beltway will be handed over to the expressway project owner by April 30. The remaining sections are set for completion in 2026, ensuring full operation as planned.

However, the Long An Department of Transport has raised concerns over a shortage of roadbed materials due to multiple large-scale projects progressing simultaneously, including Long Thanh International Airport.

The Long An section of HCMC Beltway 3 requires nearly 162,000 cubic meters of stone, but only 21,000 cubic meters have been delivered so far.

HCMC Beltway 3 is over 76 kilometers long and runs through HCMC, Dong Nai, Binh Duong, and Long An provinces. The project consists of eight independently managed components, with Long An overseeing two segments at a total cost of VND4.2 trillion.

According to the provincial Department of Transport, the Long An section is expected to be substantially completed by October 2025, while the entire Beltway 3 project remains on schedule for full completion in 2026.
