HCMC – Nearly 1,300 people have applied for jobs at Long Thanh International Airport after a recruitment event, the Airports Corporation of Vietnam (ACV) said.
Applications were submitted for positions including operations and maintenance engineers, electronics and automation technicians, chemical testing engineers, business staff, legal specialists, and administrative officers.
Most applicants hold at least a vocational college degree and have foreign language skills, ACV said. The corporation plans to contact candidates during the upcoming recruitment rounds.
The airport will need several thousand workers once it becomes operational. ACV said priority will be given to skilled young workers, including those from families affected by the project. Recruits will receive additional training to meet operational requirements.
Covering 5,000 hectares in Dong Nai Province, the Long Thanh airport project is designed to handle 100 million passengers and five million tons of cargo annually when fully operational.
First-phase airport construction is in its final stages, with core facilities scheduled for completion by December 19. Commercial operations are expected to begin in the first half of next year.
