During his visit to the airport project site and its regional transport connectivity today, December 3, the PM reiterated the importance of expediting this major project.

This marks the fifth time PM Chinh has inspected the airport project site, following previous visits during the Lunar New Year periods in 2022, 2023, 2024, and in September 2024.

He emphasized the urgency of completing all necessary procedures to pave the way for the start of the second runway’s construction in early 2025.

The Prime Minister also highlighted the need to finalize design plans, secure funding, and select contractors to begin the second phase of the project promptly after the first phase is completed in 2025.

Regarding funding for the expansion of the HCMC-Long Thanh Expressway by the Vietnam Expressway Corporation (VEC), Deputy Prime Minister Ho Duc Phoc has been tasked with overseeing the matter.

He will report proposed solutions to the Prime Minister by December 15, with all relevant documents to be submitted to the National Assembly within the month.
