HCMC – The Ministry of Construction has proposed a 50% cut in landing and take-off fees for international airlines operating regular services at Long Thanh International Airport.

The proposal, included in a draft circular on aviation service pricing, offers the discount to airlines that maintain international routes at the airport for at least 12 consecutive months. The incentive would apply for 24 months from the start of operations.

The draft is open for public feedback and builds on existing rules under Circular 44/2024/TT-BGTVT issued in 2024 by the then Ministry of Transport, with additional provisions targeting new airports.

The preferential policy would not apply to airlines that have been operational at Tan Son Nhat International Airport for at least 12 months before Long Thanh begins operations.

Similar incentives are proposed for other new airports. Airlines operating regular routes and maintaining services for at least 12 months would receive a 50% reduction in landing and take-off fees for 24 months from the airport’s launch.

The Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam reported broad support from businesses for pricing incentives to attract airlines to new airports, including Long Thanh.
