HCMC – The Loy Krathong Festival took place on November 15 in Thu Duc City, featuring Thai cultural and spiritual traditions.
Speaking at the event organized by ThaiCham, Praween Wirotpan, chairman of ThaiCham, said, “Loy Krathong is one of ThaiCham’s annual activities to strengthen the bond among ThaiCham members while expanding cultural and business connections between Thailand and Vietnam.”
The festival featured the release of krathongs (decorative floating vessels) on water, a symbolic act believed to represent the release of negativity and misfortune.
Attendees were also able to enjoy traditional Thai food and beverages, live performances, and a lucky draw.
A notable highlight of the evening was the Noppamas Contest, inspired by the legend of Nang Noppamas, a historical figure associated with the Sukhothai Kingdom. Participants competed to embody her legacy of wisdom and grace.
The event ended with participants floating their krathongs, reinforcing the festival’s enduring cultural significance.
