HCMC – International carriers operating between Vietnam and the Middle East, including Qatar Airways, Etihad Airways and Emirates, have issued urgent passenger support policies following widespread airspace disruptions in the Gulf region.
As military tensions escalate, these airlines have been forced to cancel dozens of flights and reroute operations, affecting thousands of travelers in Hanoi and HCMC. To safeguard passenger rights, the carriers are offering flexible rebooking, full refunds and repatriation assistance through March 10.
Qatar Airways is currently applying its support policy for passengers holding tickets for travel between February 28 and March 10. Eligible travelers can opt for a one-time date change free of charge within 14 days of the original departure date or receive a full refund for the unutilized portion of their tickets.
Meanwhile, Etihad Airways has implemented a policy for tickets issued before February 28 with travel dates through March 10, allowing passengers to rebook onto Etihad-operated flights at no additional cost for travel until March 31. The airline also permits full refunds for all affected itineraries scheduled within this window.
For its part, Emirates allows affected passengers to rebook on alternative flights departing on or before March 20 or request a full refund for itineraries scheduled through March 10. The airline advises passengers who booked via travel agents to contact their respective agencies, while those with direct bookings can manage their requests through the official website or hotline.
In the current context, all carriers strongly recommend that passengers check their flight status before heading to the airport and ensure their contact information is updated in their booking profiles.
