Market Club donates 4 tons of rice to disadvantaged people

HCMC – The Market Club, a member of the Saigon Times Club, handed over 4 tons of rice to poor people in various districts of HCMC and workers of industrial parks in the Mekong Delta province of Long An on August 18 to support them during the social distancing period.

The event was part of the Saigon Times – Great Circle 2021 series, an initiative of the Saigon Times Group, that is aimed at supporting people affected by the Covid-19 pandemic.

A total of 4 tons of rice was distributed to needy people in HCMC and Long An Province on August 18

Besides members of the Market Club, the event was participated by businesspeople from Khanh Trang Company, NamvietLand and Levin Déco, van drivers in HCMC and other volunteers.

In HCMC, the club donated 750 kilograms of rice each to residents in the districts of 4, 5, 8 and 10 and 500 kilograms to District 12. In Long An Province, 500 kilograms of rice was distributed to factory workers in Long Hau Commune, Can Giuoc District.

The Saigon Times Group launched the “Saigon Times – Great Circle 2021” program with the theme, “Join hands to fight off the pandemic”, on June 2. The program receives donations from organizations and individuals and then distributes them to the needy in HCMC and other provinces.
