HCMC – Marriott International on February 2 signed a multi-property agreement with Masterise Group to open four hotels and branded residences in Vietnam, adding nearly 1,900 rooms and residences to its portfolio.

The agreement covers developments in Hanoi City, HCMC and the coastal area in Can Gio Commune, introducing luxury, premium and select-service brands to major urban, business and leisure destinations, according to Marriott.

In HCMC, the deal includes The Ritz-Carlton, Saigon and The Ritz-Carlton Residences, Saigon, marking the brand’s debut in the city. Planned for the former District 1, the project is expected to include a 231-room hotel and a separate tower with 420 branded residences.

The partnership also includes a dual-branded eco-resort in Can Gio, HCMC. The planned JW Marriott Hotel Saigon Can Gio and Four Points by Sheraton Saigon, Can Gio will form part of the Can Gio Coastal Urban Tourism Area. Together, the two hotels are expected to offer about 780 rooms, suites and apartment-style units, along with meeting space and leisure facilities.

In Hanoi, the agreement includes the Co Loa Marriott Hotel, which will introduce the Marriott Hotels brand to the capital. Located near the National Exhibition and Convention Center, the property is under construction and is planned to have 494 rooms and extensive meeting space.

The agreement was signed by Gautam Bhandari, chief development officer for Asia Pacific excluding China at Marriott International, and Nelly Phuong Ta, head of hospitality and entertainment at Masterise Group. The projects will be developed and operated under Marriott’s brand standards, Marriott said.

As of the third quarter of 2025, Marriott operates 29 properties in Vietnam across 12 brands and has more than 30 additional projects in its development pipeline, according to the company.

Masterise Group said the partnership supports its expansion into hospitality and resort development, following the launch of its hospitality and entertainment arm in 2025. The developer is also involved in several infrastructure projects in Vietnam in cooperation with the government, including airport and bridge developments.

Marriott did not disclose the investment value or opening timelines for the projects.
