HCMC – Several provinces in the Mekong Delta have promised to supply 10 million cubic meters of sand for the construction of HCMC Beltway No. 3.
Vinh Long, Tien Giang, and Ben Tre provinces will contribute 1.4 million, 6.6 million, and 2 million cubic meters of sand, respectively.
Local governments in the Mekong Delta have already issued sand mining permits for 13 sites, with six of them already operational. Additional four permits are expected to be finalized by the end of this year.
When in place, the HCMC Beltway No. 3 would ease traffic congestion and stimulating economic growth in the city and neighboring provinces.
Land acquisition for the project is nearly complete, with relevant agencies aiming to finalize the process by the end of November.
