HCMC – Operations of the HCMC Metro Line No. 1 were temporarily suspended today, December 27, after heavy rain, accompanied by strong winds and lightning, triggered the automatic safety system across the line at 5:25 p.m.
In response, the Management Authority for Urban Railways (MAUR), the project’s investor, and the HCMC Urban Railways No. 1 Company (HURC1), the operator, suspended train services and instructed all trains to return to stations.
Station staff were deployed to assist passengers and ensure their safety.
While acknowledging the disruption to commuters, MAUR and HURC1 emphasized that safety is of utmost importance, especially during the initial phase of commercial operations, an official statement said.
Following a thorough inspection and confirmation of no abnormalities, authorities allowed service to resume.
Yesterday, a train on the Metro Line No. 1 also experienced a brief service disruption at Ba Son Station due to a signal inconsistency, reported local media.
