HCMC – Minister of Agriculture and Environment Do Duc Duy has been given a warning by the Politburo for his serious violations during his stint as leader of Yen Bai Province.
At a meeting held in Hanoi on July 17, the Politburo reviewed a request by the Central Inspection Commission to take disciplinary measures against Party members who had committed violations.
Do Duc Duy, member of the Party Central Committee, member of the Party Committee of the Government, Party Secretary of the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment and Minister of Agriculture and Environment, were found to have committed violations of Party regulations and State laws while he was serving as deputy secretary of the Party Committee of Yen Bai Province, and secretary of the Party Civil Affairs Committee and chairman of the Yen Bai People’s Committee.
He violated the principle of democratic centralism and the working regulations; breached the Party’s rules on what members must not do and failed to act as a role model.
His actions caused serious consequences, generated negative public opinion, and undermined the reputation of the Party organization.
Nguyen Thi Kim Tien, during her tenure as a member of the Party Central Committee, secretary of the Party Civil Affairs Committee at the Ministry of Health, and Minister of Health, exhibited signs of political, ethical, and lifestyle degradation.
She violated Party regulations and State laws in the performance of her assigned duties, including in the areas of anti-corruption, thrift practice, and combating negative behaviors.
She also breached the Party’s code of conduct and failed to act as a role model. These violations caused extremely serious consequences, and provoked public outrage.
Based on the nature, extent, consequences, and causes of the violations, and in accordance with the Party’s regulations on disciplining members who commit violations, the Politburo decided to issue a warning to Do Duc Duy and to submit Nguyen Thi Kim Tien’s case to the Party Central Committee for disciplinary consideration and action.
