HCMC – Vietnamese air carriers are set to operate an average of 840 flights per day from August 30 to September 3, up by 3% against normal days and 3.5% compared to the same period last year, to accommodate the high travel demand during the National Day (September 2) holiday.

Of these flights, domestic routes will account for 600 per day, an uptick of 5% versus the week before the holiday and 2.8% higher than in the same period last year. The average number of international flights will be 241 per day, which is a slight decrease of 2% compared to the week preceding the holiday.

Airlines are increasing flights between the three major cities—Hanoi, Danang and HCMC—with an average of 241 flights per day, an increase of nearly 15% year-on-year.

Flights to popular tourist destinations like Dalat, Nha Trang and Phu Quoc have seen a sharp rise, averaging 171 flights per day.

To ensure passenger safety during this busy air travel period, the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam has instructed all airports and aviation facilities to implement the highest level of security measures.
