HCMC – Heavy rain is forecast to continue across Vietnam for the next few days, with the provinces of Ha Giang, Lao Cai, and Yen Bai possibly facing floods and landslides, reported the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting.

This morning, Ha Giang, Lao Cai and Yen Bai in northern Vietnam had rainfalls ranging from 20 to 40 millimeters, with certain areas receiving up to 60 millimeters. These provinces may face the possibility of flash floods and landslides in the upcoming days.

In the central and southern regions, showers and torrential rains are expected, with rainfalls ranging from 20 to 50 millimeters. Some provinces may even see up to 80 millimeters of rainfall. Lam Dong, Kon Tum and Gia Lai provinces are particularly susceptible to downpours exceeding 100 millimeters.

On June 4, heavy rains heavily impacted the southern province of Dong Nai, resulting in the displacement of 150 households. Many areas were flooded, causing damage to houses and public infrastructure.
