HCMC – Vietnam Airlines has canceled several flights and revised its schedule for June 11 and 12 due to heavy rain in the central region triggered by Storm Wutip.

Vietnam Airlines canceled 14 flights between Hanoi and Danang due to adverse weather conditions on the night of June 11 and the early morning of June 12.

Flights VN7167 and VN7165 from Hanoi to Danang were either diverted to Cam Ranh or returned to Hanoi as weather at the destination airport did not permit a safe landing, according to the Vietnam News Agency.

At the same time, seven flights bound for Danang were placed in holding patterns due to bad weather, causing delays for 32 other flights by 20 minutes to over an hour. Poor weather at Phu Bai Airport in Hue also led to multiple flight delays and extended holding times.

This afternoon (June 12), Vietnam Airlines planned to add more flights and deploy wide-body aircraft on the Hanoi-Danang route to accommodate affected passengers.

Flight times may continue to be adjusted depending on the storm’s developments. The airline will provide updates through media channels and passenger contact information in booking records.
