HCMC – National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man, his spouse, and a high-ranking delegation left Hanoi today for the 46th General Assembly of the ASEAN Inter Parliamentary Assembly (AIPA-46) in Malaysia and an official visit to the Southeast Asian country.
His participation in AIPA-46 comes at the invitation of Speaker of the Malaysian House of Representatives Johari Bin Abdul, who is also AIPA-46 President.
The official visit to Malaysia from September 16 to 19 is made at the invitation of Senate President Awang Bemee Awang Ali Basah.
National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man’s participation in the 46th General Assembly of the ASEAN Inter-Parliamentary Assembly (AIPA-46) reaffirms Vietnam’s commitment to actively engaging in and contributing to AIPA’s role in maintaining peace, stability, and cooperation in the region, realizing the ASEAN Community Vision 2045, and strengthening ASEAN’s centrality.
It also demonstrates Vietnam’s support for Malaysia as ASEAN Chair in 2025 and as host of AIPA-46, while actively coordinating with other ASEAN member states to promote inclusive and sustainable growth.
This is the first official visit to Malaysia by a Vietnamese National Assembly chair since the two countries officially upgraded their relations to a comprehensive strategic partnership in November 2024.
The visit aims to further strengthen the effectiveness and substance of bilateral parliamentary cooperation, contributing to creating a legal framework for the governments and businesses of both countries to expand collaboration.
