HCMC – The 15th National Assembly (NA) opened its fifth extraordinary session today morning, with the consideration and approval of four critical items, including the revised drafts of the Land Law and the Law on Credit Institutions.
The opening of the fifth extraordinary session features the participation of Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong and other current and former Party and State leaders.
During the session, which runs from January 15 to 18, the NA will deliberate and approve four key items. These include the amended Land Law, the revised Law on Credit Institutions, a draft resolution on special mechanisms and policies to address impediments and accelerate the implementation of national objective programs, as well as the allocation of public investment capital from reserves.
Following the opening ceremony today, the NA dedicated the entire morning to discussing draft revisions to the Land Law and then the amended Law on Credit Institutions in the afternoon.
Tomorrow, the NA will discuss the two remaining items and will have a day off on January 17 to review feedback from NA deputies. The draft laws and resolutions are scheduled for the closing session on January 18.
According to NA General Secretary Bui Van Cuong, the revised Land Law draft, which comprises 16 chapters and 260 articles, has undergone multiple revisions. Five articles were removed, and 250 articles were amended compared to the most recent version discussed at the end of 2023.
Meanwhile, the amended Law on Credit Institutions draft presented during this extraordinary session consists of 15 chapters and 210 articles, incorporating all feedback. The latest draft includes seven additional articles compared to the previous version.
