In its development history of over 30 years, Nam Long Group has emphasized its mission “Joining hands to create a living environment and valuable products for the community,” continuing to allocate essential resources to conduct community responsibility activities in fields such as education, healthcare, and environmental protection.
Supporting scholarships for students
The “Nam Long Friendship Golf Tournament” has been held annually by Nam Long Group since 2009. Besides aiming to strengthen cooperation between the group and its partners, the tournament also spreads good values to society, especially in education. The entire amount of over VND800 million raised at this year’s tournament will be used to award scholarships to students with good academic performance but difficult circumstances, helping them pursue their educational dreams, personal development, and ultimately contributing to society through the “Swing for Dreams” fund.
Over the past 15 seasons, the “Swing for Dreams” fund has awarded thousands of scholarships to students from universities such as the University of Economics, Polytechnic University, Architecture University of HCMC, Foreign Trade University, and others, with a total value of tens of billions of Vietnam dong. In the future, Nam Long will continue to partner with schools to implement practical activities, supporting students from difficult backgrounds who strive to succeed.
Nam Long Fresh contributes “Green Living” awareness
Nam Long Group has maintained and developed a series of activities over the years to follow the 17 United Nations sustainable development goals, addressing significant environmental challenges via its annual Nam Long Fresh program.
In the 2023 program, Nam Long Group collaborated with Limloop, a social enterprise specializing in recycled fashion and supporting disabled people, to organize the Nam Long Fresh Tour – Nam Long Green Station with the message “Join Hands to Build a Green Planet.” The program included activities to promote environmental awareness and support disadvantaged groups in the community.
The Nam Long Green Station collected used materials like paper, plastics and batteries to give them a “new life,” making them useful, instead of polluting the environment. Especially, the collected nylon bags were processed and turned into fashion products by the hands of disabled people working at Limloop. This model not only reduces environmental impact but also generates income for disadvantaged groups in society. This is why Nam Long Group and Limloop have partnered to organize this year’s Nam Long Fresh Tour – Nam Long Green Station.
As a sustainability-minded developer, Nam Long aims to comply with green building standards like IFC’s EDGE in some of its key projects. Nam Long always emphasizes compliance with environmental laws, focusing on reducing energy and water usage in business operations. The group manages to anticipate climate change risks, and prepares scenarios to cope with worst-case situations.
At all its projects, black and gray wastewater is treated to ensure it does not affect water and soil environments at the project and surrounding areas. Gray wastewater is treated to safe environmental levels before being discharged.
Connecting with the community
As a large-scale real estate developer with hundreds of projects nationwide, Nam Long Group pays special attention to the connectivity of its projects with the local community. According to a representative of the group, “We create living environments with friendly ‘neighbors,’ blending modern urban style with the warmth of Vietnamese relationships.”
Nam Long recognizes that its urban areas need to harmonize and connect with local communities. Therefore, for suitable urban models, the group creates spaces where local residents can use the amenities of urban areas and interact with residents, enhancing local connectivity, such as outdoor exercise areas, parks, cultural theme parks, jogging tracks, and cycling paths.
The group also organizes cultural and social activities involving both local residents and residents from nearby neighborhoods. Some notable programs have attracted thousands of participants, such as Nam Long Family Sport Day and Green Day.
In addition, with a community-oriented spirit, Nam Long has participated in charitable activities supporting livelihoods, like building bridges and roads in HCMC and other localities. The group has invested in building bridges and roads worth over VND5 billion in Long An Province; and supported the “Clean Water for Schools” program for 130 schools and school sites in Bac Binh District of Binh Thuan Province.
In 2023, the group actively maintained community service activities at its projects, such as organizing fireworks for the New Year, the National Tennis Championship Nam Long Cup, building the Vietnam-Japan Friendship House to commemorate 50 years of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Japan, sponsoring local planning development seminars, and launching the Heritage Forest Tree Planting Ceremony.
