HCMC – The National Assembly (NA) today, October 25, approved Le Hoai Trung as minister of Foreign Affairs, Do Thanh Binh as minister of Home Affairs, and Tran Duc Thang as minister of Agriculture and Environment for the 2021–2026 term.
The resolution was passed with unanimous support from all 427 deputies present, accounting for 90.08% of the NA’s total membership.
Le Hoai Trung, 64, from Hue City, holds a doctorate in law and is a member of the Secretariat of the current 13th Party Central Committee. He previously served as Vietnam’s permanent representative to the UN, deputy minister of Foreign Affairs, head of the Party’s Commission for External Relations, and chief of the Party Central Office.
Do Thanh Binh, 58, from Ca Mau Province, holds a master’s degree in economics and is a member of the current 13th Party Central Committee. Formerly secretary of the Can Tho City Party Committee, he replaces Pham Thi Thanh Tra, who has been promoted to the post of deputy prime minister.
Tran Duc Thang, 52, from Phu Tho Province, holds a doctorate in economics and is also a Party Central Committee member. He previously served as secretary of the former Hai Duong Province, deputy inspector general, and acting minister of Agriculture and Environment.
