HCMC – The Ministry of Transport has expanded the national passenger transportation network by adding 101 fixed routes, bringing the total to nearly 9,500 across the country.
These new routes were previously proposed by localities.
The additional routes will improve connectivity with 34 different localities, including An Giang, Ba Ria-Vung Tau, Bac Giang, Bac Kan, Binh Duong, Danang, Hanoi, Haiphong and HCMC.
Vietnam now has a total of over 9,450 fixed routes that serve passenger transportation across provinces and cities.
According to statistics from the Department for Roads of Vietnam, by the end of 2023, the country had had a total of 18,000 passenger vehicles operating on fixed routes within and between provinces and being managed by more than 1,200 operational transportation businesses.
