Vietnam inaugurated its National Tourism Year 2025 in the former imperial city of Hue on March 25, unveiling a year-long agenda of cultural events aimed at promoting domestic tourism and showcasing the country’s heritage.

The opening ceremony featured an art performance titled “Confessions of the River”, celebrating both the tangible and intangible cultural assets of Vietnam. The program highlighted Hue’s historical significance while also serving as a prelude to the Hue Festival 2025, which commemorates the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of Hue.

The National Tourism Year will include 75 major events throughout 2025, culminating on December 31, with additional tourism-related activities held nationwide. The initiative is designed to foster tourism development partnerships among provinces and unlock the potential of Hue as a cultural and historical destination.
