HCMC – Nguyen Hue Flower Street will welcome visitors from January 27 to February 2, showcasing 90 snake mascots as part of its Lunar New Year 2025 celebrations.
Organized by Saigontourist Group, the flower street will display approximately 109,000 flower baskets. Preparations are set to begin on January 9, with the project completed by midday on the opening day.
The theme for this year’s event, Non sông gấm hoa, vui xuân thái hòa (“A Prosperous Nation, Joyous Springtime”), emphasizes Vietnam’s unity, progress, and the festive spirit of the Lunar New Year.
The street is divided into three themed sections: Unity, honoring Vietnam’s fight for independence, transformation, symbolizing the country’s period of renewal and growth, highlighting aspirations for the future.
A key attraction will be the 90 snake mascots, celebrating the Year of the Snake. Among them, two massive sculptures—Kim Ty (Golden Snake) and Ngan Ty (Silver Snake)—will measure 42 meters and 25 meters in length, respectively. Crafted using 70% eco-friendly materials, these mascots showcase intricate artistry while promoting sustainability.
Another highlight is the Spring Drops from the Earth installation, covering 1,000 square meters and standing eight meters tall. Made from bamboo and rattan, this centerpiece symbolizes nature’s resilience and harmony.
The 2025 event coincides with several milestones, including the 95th anniversary of the Communist Party of Vietnam, the 80th anniversary of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, and 50 years since the country’s reunification.
Marking its 22nd year, Nguyen Hue Flower Street has been a cultural highlight of HCMC since its inception in 2004. In 2024, the event’s centerpiece was Lưỡng Long Triều Liên (Two Dragons Flanking the Lotus), which featured striking dragon sculptures.
