HCMC – Nguyen Thanh Nghi, a member of the Party Central Committee and permanent deputy secretary of the HCMC Party Committee, has been chosen by the Politburo to lead the Policy and Strategy Commission of the Party Central Committee.
The announcement was made by Tran Cam Tu, permanent member of the Party Secretariat, at a conference on August 25 in HCMC to announce the Politburo’s personnel decision.
Nghi will replace Tran Luu Quang, who has been assigned as secretary of the HCMC Party Committee. The Politburo’s appointment decision will be presented to Nghi this afternoon.
At the announcement ceremony, Tran Cam Tu, permanent member of the Party Secretariat, said the Politburo had decided to allow Nguyen Thanh Nghi to leave the Executive and Standing boards of the HCMC Party Committee, and relinquish his position as relinquish deputy secretary of the HCMC Party Committee for the 2020-2025 term.
Nghi has held various leadership positions in both the Government and local administrations, and has served as a member of the Party Central Committee in the 11th, 12th, and 13th tenures.
