HCMC – Nhon Trach Bridge, a key part of the HCMC section of Beltway No. 3, has been technically opened to traffic, establishing a seamless connection between HCMC and neighboring Dong Nai Province.

The investor, the My Thuan Project Management Board, said that Nhon Trach Bridge is part of the Tan Van – Nhon Trach component, known as 1A, of the beltway which links HCMC with Binh Duong, Dong Nai and Long An provinces.

The Tan Van – Nhon Trach component has a total length of 8.22 km, with construction started on September 24, 2022. It is expected to be completed by June 2025. The project is funded by ODA loans from the South Korean government through the Economic Development Cooperation Fund (EDCF) and counterpart funds from the Vietnamese Government.

Previously, the My Thuan Project Management Board launched a 60-day emulation campaign to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the liberation of the south and the reunification of the nation (April 30, 1975-2025) . Following the campaign, the project’s output increased by over 9% (VND220 billion), raising the completion ratio from 87% to 96%.

Key work items were completed as required, including the Nhon Trach Bridge, where asphalt concrete paving was fully applied, the bridge’s railing system and lighting were completed, and the approach roads on both sides (HCMC and Dong Nai) were connected, with at least one layer of asphalt concrete paved across the entire route.

As of April 27, the project achieved its technical traffic opening goal, establishing a continuous connection from the starting point in Dong Nai across the Nhon Trach Bridge to HCMC and linking to the HCMC-Long Thanh-Dau Giay Expressway at the HLD interchange.

This milestone is crucial for ensuring the entire project’s completion by June 30, approximately three months ahead of the contract schedule.

The project plays a vital role in shortening the travel distance from HCMC to Dong Nai, Long Thanh International Airport, and neighboring provinces. Once fully operational, it will help alleviate traffic on the HCMC-Long Thanh-Dau Giay Expressway, contribute to long-distance traffic diversion, and reduce congestion on both the expressway and the urban road network of HCMC.
