HCMC – Noi Bai International Airport has begun electronic toll collection (ETC) across all lanes at the toll stations for terminals 1 and 2, according to local media reports.
The cashless toll system and automated non-stop parking fee collection, which recently completed a trial phase, are now fully operational at both terminals.
Terminal 1 features nine entry lanes and 10 exit lanes, while Terminal 2 has seven entry lanes and 11 exit lanes.
In addition to ETC payments for vehicles with VETC and VDTC traffic accounts, the toll stations also accept bank cards, QR codes, e-wallets, and cash as alternative payment methods.
For now, all payment options remain available on all lanes. However, once sufficient data on ETC usage is gathered, the airport plans to designate ETC-only lanes to streamline operations and reduce vehicle wait times at the toll stations.
The cashless toll collection and ETC system for parking services is part of a project led by the Airports Corporation of Vietnam (ACV). Approved for implementation at 21 airports nationwide, the system has already been successfully deployed at Noi Bai, Tan Son Nhat, Danang, Cat Bi, and Phu Bai airports.
ACV aims to accelerate the rollout and upgrade toll collection systems at the remaining airports to enhance convenience, improve service efficiency, and reduce congestion at airport entrances and exits.
