HCMC – A conference on tourism promotion of eight northwestern provinces was held in Can Tho City on April 9 with the participation of local authorities, departments, tourism associations and tourism companies, reported the local media.
The conference was part of a series of “The Northwestern Tourism – Culture Week 2023” events from April 8 to 11.
The eight northwestern provinces comprise Hoa Binh, Son La, Dien Bien, Lai Chau, Lao Cai, Yen Bai, Ha Giang and Phu Tho that are blessed with beautiful landscapes, culture and glorious history and have the potential to develop tourism, said the director of the Lao Cai Tourism Department.
He hoped that connecting eight northwestern provinces with the Mekong Delta’s provinces would help the two regions tap their potential to develop tourism.
According to the Vice Chairman of Can Tho Peoples’ Committee, Nguyen Thuc Hien, the event was a great opportunity for the localities, investors and businesses to exchange experience and information in tourism development, boosting cooperation and tourism promotion between Can Tho City and the Mekong Delta region with the northwestern provinces.
