NT2 sees strong November revenue growth

HCMC – PetroVietnam Power Nhon Trach 2 JSC (HOSE: NT2) reported a sharp rise in revenue in November, supported by higher power output.

The company generated 322.7 million kWh of electricity during the month. Electricity sales revenue reached VND787 billion. These figures represented increases of 24% and 48%, respectively, from the same period last year.

In the first half of December, NT2 produced nearly 164.5 million kWh. Based on this performance, the company estimated full-month output at around 399.8 million kWh.

NT2 also updated its cumulative business results. Over the first 10 months of 2025, the company recorded total pre-tax profit of more than VND10.2 trillion.

On November 13, the Nhon Trach 2 power plant reached a milestone of 60 billion kWh of commercial electricity delivered to the national grid, marking 14 years of commercial operations.

On the stock market, NT2 shares have gained 20.5% so far this year, as of the close of trading today, December 17. They advanced 1.09% to VND23,200 at the close of trading.

Vietnamese stocks edged lower on Wednesday as losses in banking, securities and large-cap shares outweighed selective gains, while market liquidity declined sharply.

The VN-Index closed down 5.52 points, or 0.33%, at 1,673.66. There were 114 gainers and 206 decliners on the Hochiminh Stock Exchange.

Trading volume reached 612.3 million shares, worth VND19.53 trillion, down 26% in volume and 20% in value from the previous session. Block deals accounted for 116.5 million shares valued at VND5.14 trillion.

Bank shares mostly fell. Only four stocks ended higher, with BID rising 1.6%. ACB and HDB closed flat. Six banking stocks fell more than 1%, led by TPB, which dropped 1.79%.

Securities stocks were also weaker. Only VCX, VPX, TCX and APG gained. Newly listed VCX rose 3.15% to VND52,400. Most other stocks declined, with FTS, CTS, VDS and VIX down between just over 2% and nearly 2.9%. SSI fell nearly 2%.

Real estate stocks were mixed. LGL surged to its ceiling price of VND6,000, while QCG plunged to the floor for a second straight session, closing at VND16,300.

Other property stocks also declined. DXS, CII and SJS fell more than 3%. On the upside, NVT gained more than 5.5%, while VRC and VPL rose over 4.2%. VPL added the most to the index, contributing 1.43 points after rising 4.27% to VND87,900.

In the VN30 basket, which groups the 30 largest-cap stocks, only six stocks advanced. BID and FPT rose more than 1%. PLX, VRE, STB and VIB posted smaller gains. HDB, VIC and ACB were unchanged. The remaining bluechips declined.

DGC remained at its floor price of VND80,500, with 3.9 million shares traded. Other large caps also decreased. VJC and SAB fell more than 3%. BCM lost nearly 3%. VNM and GAS dropped more than 2%.

SHB was the most actively traded stock on the market, with over 48.8 million shares changing hands.

On the Hanoi Stock Exchange, the HNX-Index fell 1.96 points, or 0.77%, to 253.12. The northern bourse market recorded 46 winners and 96 losers. Trading volume reached 47.3 million shares worth VND920 billion.
