HCMC – A fishing boat with nine people on board was hit and broken in half by a cargo ship in the waters off Quang Ngai Province this morning, February 23, leaving one dead and two missing.
At around 6:30 am, the fishing boat QNg 91426 TS captained by Nguyen Dam, a 57-year-old resident in Quang Ngai, was directly hit by the cargo ship owned by Trung Thang Company. The incident occurred about five nautical miles from the coast.
The accident caused the fishing boat to be split in half, and all nine people on board fell into the water. Among them, two went missing, while others were rescued by a nearby fishing vessel and brought onshore for medical attention. One of those was dead at the hospital.
