HCMC – More than 3,000 tourists from Hong Kong arrived in Halong City on October 18 on board the luxury cruise ship Costa Serena, which came to Halong International Cruise Port today.
This is the second visit to Halong this year by the Italian-flagged cruise ship as part of its ongoing voyages between Hong Kong and Vietnam, local news reported.
As planned, the tourists will visit popular attractions in the province, including Halong Bay and Quang Ninh Museum, and experience local culture and cuisine.
Quang Ninh catered to 42 international cruise ships with 50,000 tourists this year, according to the provincial Department of Tourism.
The province is expected to welcome 13 more cruise ships by year-end, carrying an additional 15,000 tourists. Among them, the Costa Serena will make three more trips.
Another luxury cruise ship, the Viking Orion, is set to arrive on October 21 with over 1,000 European tourists, helping Quang Ninh reach its goal of three million international visitors this year.
