HCMC – A recent job bazaar brought together 22 centrally-run cities and provinces in southern Vietnam, offering over 40,000 jobs across various industries.

The event, held on July 31 by the HCMC Employment Service Center in collaboration with 22 provincial job placement centers, combined online and in-person participation to connect employers with job seekers.

The job fair attracted 384 businesses looking to fill positions in sectors such as information technology, engineering, business, mechanical engineering, hospitality, logistics, textiles, and electronics.

There was a particularly high demand for labor-intensive roles, with companies seeking over 31,000 general laborers. The footwear and garment sectors had openings for more than 9,500 workers, while the food and beverage industry offered nearly 9,000 positions.

Additionally, there were over 3,800 vacancies in business and management, around 3,000 in technical and mechanical engineering fields, and over 4,400 in the office administration and service sectors.

One of the physical locations for the job fair was Quang Trung Software Park in District 12, HCMC, where 45 companies sought to fill nearly 5,000 positions in fields like IT, engineering, electrical, tourism, and hospitality.

The HCMC Department of Labor, Invalids, and Social Affairs said that the event aimed to provide job seekers from the Mekong Delta and Southeast regions with suitable employment opportunities. It also helped businesses address labor shortages by streamlining the recruitment process and broadening their access to a diverse pool of candidates from various regions.
