Over 4,600 weekly flights approved for winter season

HCMC – Vietnam’s aviation sector is gearing up for a busy winter season, with the Civil Aviation Administration of Vietnam (CAAV) approving over 4,600 weekly roundtrip flights.

International air travel to Vietnam is set to surge, with 2,720 weekly roundtrips operated by four domestic and 72 foreign airlines.

The winter season, as defined by the International Air Transport Association (IATA), runs from October 27, 2024 to March 29, 2025.

Domestic carriers, including Vietnam Airlines, Vietjet Air, Vietravel Airlines, and Bamboo Airways, will operate 1,013 weekly roundtrips, while foreign airlines will operate 1,707 weekly roundtrips.

Vietnam will offer 98 regular international routes to 20 countries and territories.

Domestically, five Vietnamese carriers—Vietnam Airlines, Vietjet, Vietravel Airline, Bamboo Airways, and Pacific Airlines—will operate 45 routes connecting 22 airports nationwide. Vietjet will lead with 35 routes and 790 weekly roundtrips, followed by Vietnam Airlines.

Compared to the previous summer season, Vietnamese carriers will launch six new international routes. Thirty countries and territories, primarily China, will increase flight frequencies to Vietnam.
