HCMC – More than 54,500 flights were delayed between January and October this year, representing 25.8% of total flights, showed data from the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam (CAAV).
The primary cause of delays was late aircraft arrival, which accounted for 15.2% of all delays. Additionally, 841 flights were canceled, with operational issues from airlines responsible for 382 of these cancellations.
Airlines including Vietnam Airlines, Vietjet Air, Bamboo Airways, and Vietravel Airlines, operated a total of 211,874 flights during this period.
Vietnam Airlines achieved 75,232 on-time departures out of 91,035 flights, reaching an on-time performance rate of 82.6%. Bamboo Airways led with an on-time rate of 83.3%, with 11,840 on-time flights out of 14,214. VietJet Air recorded 57,815 on-time departures.
The average on-time departure rate across these airlines was 74.2%, with 157,311 out of 211,874 flights departing as scheduled, according to a CAAV representative.
