HCMC – Petrovietnam Gas Joint Stock Corporation (PV GAS) has taken delivery of 63,000 tons of liquefied natural gas (LNG) at the Thi Vai Terminal in HCMC, marking its first LNG import shipment of 2026.

The shipment, totaling 87 million cubic meters of natural gas, was transported by vessel FAT’H AL KHAIR, which had cleared the Strait of Hormuz just before the United States and Israel launched attacks on Iran.

This is one of two planned shipments for the first half of this year were already secured from Qatar and Southeast Asia.

The company is selecting a supplier for the third shipment. With 15,000 tons of available inventory and a rigorous import schedule, the company guarantees sufficient supply for power generation through late April 2026.

From May 2026 onwards, PV GAS will further diversify its import sources while closely following Petrovietnam’s directives to maximize domestic oil and gas extraction for oil refineries and power plants, ensuring a stable energy supply.

To mitigate supply chain risks from the Middle East conflict, the company is diversifying LPG sources and boosting domestic production at the Dinh Co and Ca Mau plants, expected to add 5% to the local LPG supply.
