HCMC – Social media (71.6%) and videos from platforms like YouTube and TikTok (62%) are the most popular sources of travel information among the 25-34 age group during this summer’s travel season, according to a report by The Outbox Company.
The 35-44 age group tends to rely more on traditional channels, such as travel agents (42.4%), newspapers and magazines (37.3%), and outdoor advertising (39.9%).
This contrast underscores a distinct generational split in how travelers seek information – an important perspective for shaping destination marketing strategies and guiding businesses in the tourism sector.
Most Vietnamese travelers, regardless of age, tend to plan their trips less than one month before departure.

During the three summer months, domestic destinations remained the top choice for Vietnamese travelers.
According to the report, 80.4% of respondents opted for domestic trips, a 4.4% increase compared to last year. Danang continued to lead as the most popular local destination, chosen by 23.5% of travelers.
Meanwhile, Japan remained the most favored international destination, attracting 39.4% of outbound Vietnamese tourists.
